Who We Are
The Dr. Deborah Salmon Foundation is a Massachusetts 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in memory of Dr. Deborah Salmon, a licensed mental health counselor, social worker, and community builder who passed away in November 2024 at age 51.
Dr. Salmon was born in Kingston, Jamaica and dedicated her career to the people who needed someone in their corner most. She worked at DCF, Hillcrest Educational Centers, The Brien Center, co-founded Choices Mentoring Initiative, and founded the Berkshire Health and Wellness Community Center.
The foundation carries her work forward through scholarships, cancer awareness initiatives, and an annual soccer tournament that brings the community together every year.
The Berkshires Cup is a 7-a-side soccer tournament held annually in Pittsfield, Massachusetts at Berkshire Community College Turf Field. The inaugural tournament takes place September 26 and October 3, 2026.
10 teams compete across two weekends in pool play and knockouts. First place takes home $5,000, the Champions Cup trophy, and the bragging rights. Entry is $1,500 per team.
All net proceeds go to the DSF Scholarship Program, cancer awareness initiatives, and community programs.
